Settling into a new state, into a new apartment, means creating a new routine. Learning the lay of the land. What is the best place to buy natural groceries? Where do I go to yoga? What beaches will we regular? Where is the best place to find locally roasted coffee? What farmers markets happen when and where? Will there be farm fresh eggs? How about wildflowers?
It took me 4 weeks to find a grocery store that sold dairy free options at a normal price. I still haven't figured out the farmers markets. I am just now dabbling in the yoga community.
The part of all change that seems stressful is the never ending questions of HOW, WHAT, WHY, WHEN, WHERE? And my answer to all of them is - I don't know.
I don't know is a good answer for people who are going through change. When a chapter of life, that was comfortable and "normal" comes to an end, a new chapter begins. Because it's new, there is no way that we could ever know all the answers before the chapter unfolds.
So, my routine? It's like the introduction pages of a book. It starts with 3 big glasses of water, washing and putting away dishes, making coffee and listening to birds. The rest will unfold just like the pages of a book turn. I will read each page as it comes and when I get to the end, I will say "that was a wonderful book, I am ready for another!"
