September's Arrival | So Comes the Fall

Autumn seemed to arrive suddenly that year. The morning of the first September was crisp and golden as an apple.

We've been quiet this week. Mostly because September blew in with cooler air and sunny days, reminding us transition is coming. We are both gearing up for change. One of us is taking on more responsibilities and more projects. The other is handing off projects, slowing down and waiting.

Seasons give us the change we need. Fall knows that we spent Summer going out. Fall says invite people over, make them pizza, sit and relax, it's not too hot to turn on the oven now. Winter knows the warmer seasons kept us busy and hot. Winter gives us the excuse to binge watch and hide in covers. Spring knows that Winter was too dark and grey. Spring brings you flowers to brighten up the day. Summer shows up just in the nick of time to get us out of our house before we lose our minds.

Fall is here and we are embracing it. We're reflecting on what we've experienced since we saw it last. We've become wives, seen new parts of the world, found new homes, and done the meaningful work of just being, living, and learning. We welcome this time, looking ahead and simply enjoying the cooler weather, the bowls of soup, the urge to clean, create and bake. We are taking it all in. Remembering to go outside, to watch the sunset. To get ice cream before its too cold. To soak in every last bit of sun on our skin, like the squirrel collecting every last acorn.

This is the beautiful cycle. We've seen it before. We love and welcome it, like the dear friend it is, and honor it with a slightly slower pace. Hope you all enjoyed the long weekend and a slower week, and that you're as stoked as we are for the weather, food, festivities, and coziness headed our way.
