I turned 28 on the 1st. This is the Laundry List of purchases I've made with birthday money. There are a couple of things to note here, #1 clearly I am getting old because these are pretty boring birthday gifts. #2 yes, it took me almost a whole month to mindfully purchase them all.
Seagrass Basket - as a birthday adventure, a friend of mine took me to a local boutique here in Southwest MI. I fell in love with everything but left empty handed because I wasn't sure what I needed. After 2 days of thinking, I made a trip back to buy a medium sized seagrass basket. It is currently hiding a label maker and scale under my indigo died fabric from El Salvador. Similar found Here
Mirror - the wall above our dresser has been lonely and blank for months. I have played with different prints, wedding pictures and random banners but nothing was worth the commitment it takes to put a hole in our old plaster walls. Nothing until this, it's the perfect fit.
Dustpan and Hand Broom - I use a hand broom a ton, especially in the kitchen after I cook or after a trip to the beach. I have actually been looking for a hand broom since March. I was struggling to commit to spending $30 on something so simple. I choose this one because I love the look. I love that it isn't plastic and the bristles are horsehair so they don't create static cling and I have fairly long hair that really loves static cling!
Linen Bowl Covers - I found these guys at the same local boutique the basket came from. I got an extra small, small, and medium. I will surely invest in the larger sizes now that I know how much I love them! Similar Here & Here. We are slowly slowly working on using less disposable items around here. We still have the same pack of saran wrap that we've had for two Christmas' now!
I am not going to lie, each of these things brings me continued joy when I look at them. The time and thought I put into each of these purchases has left me with a collection of lasting, artful. natural products that I love!
